TurnKey Linux Virtual Appliance Library

Naming Conventions

A general question I've asked myself lately.

Is TurkeyLinux a "linux distro" or just Ubuntu appliances?

The reason I ask is that when I rename template files for Proxmox, they require a special naming convention.

Just wondering what is the best way to name them.

TurnKey is a meta-distribution

Both. Neither. I don't know if it helps but TurnKey Linux doesn't really fit neatly into the existing definitions. It is a Linux distribution in the sense that we do run our own repositories for custom software, and we are... uhm... distributing Linux. OTOH, it's built from Ubuntu parts and 99.9% of the binaries come from there. We don't touch them.

The closest definition for TurnKey would be a meta-distribution I think (a distribution of a distribution).

Thanks....

Thanks....
