How to set different language in Drupal

Hello all

How does someone set a different language than English when configuring Drupal ?

I believe there is someting like a package to download + expand then a folder to place somewhere with the online version. But here ?

Thanks for your help

Pier

Didn't work

I installed and looked in the administration>> Site configuration >> or Administer >> Site building >> in fact there was no entry like "Language" or "translate interface" as suggested in your link
In http://drupal.org/node/21145 How to install a different language, it says that you have to import a translation .po file... and "extract the translations into your root Drupal install directory"
Now where is that directory ? Or did I miss sthg ?

Found the right module to enable in Drupal

it is there : http://xxx.xxx.x.x/?q=admin/build/modules
Thanks for your patience
Pier
