I installed the redmine iso on my Aleutia E2. It works mind you.

My only problem is that at boot time I get the message:

"(id 10ec:8139 rev 10) is not an 8139C+ compatible chip" it also tells me to use 8139too, which it then proceeds to load by itself and the network is initialized.

It apparently waits here for about twenty seconds then moves on.

I'd like to get rid of this message and the delay it causes during boot time.

- I've tried blacklisting it through /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist and also through /etc/modprobe.d/local-8139cp.

- I've also gone to erasing the file /lib/modules/2.6.24-27-generic/kernel/drivers/net/8139cp.ko I still get the error message.

Am I missing a step or something?
