LAPP Stack Red hat based instead of ubuntu?

As we were using the LAPP applicance before our company got bought, we now need to change this application to the new restrictions.

I have been asked if instead of ubuntu, Red Hat Linux Enterprise can be used as base.
Can someone help me out here?

Yes and no

Yes it can be done.

But you'll need to create your own RHEL based LAPP stack and then manually migrate your data over. TKL do not have any other basis for appliances ATM. I think there is plans for Debian based appliances at some point, and who knows maybe they will produce others at some point... but not anytime soon I wouldn't think.
