Hi,

I downloaded phpBB TKL latest version appliance and uploaded the image onto my VMWare ESXi server. I then had to provide the IP address and that's it. I am able to bring up the webmin page and the others two - webshell and phpMyAdmin. However, I can't see how I can bring up the phpBB welcome pages and the phpBB administration panel page for forum administration.

Accessing the URL [http://Appliance_IP] in the browser brings up a page that shows Control Panel with Web Shell, Webmin, and PHPMyAdmin buttons/links. However, I can't get to the phpBB welcome / administration page.

Is there anything that needs to be done before I can see the phpBB welcome and Administration pages? Please let me know.

Thanks,

B.D.

But IIRC it should just work by browsing to http://<appliance-ip>/ Obviously that's not working for you though so I'm not sure. If I get a chance I'll test it out and see what I can see.

Thanks for the reply. Please let me know what I can do to solve this whenever you get a chance to look into this one. In the meantime, can you please suggest a few pointers that I can verify / tweak on my TKL appliance.

Thanks,

B.D.

I just downloaded and installed the TKL phpBB v11.3 appliance (in OVZ format) and can confirm that it definately goes straight to the phpBB welcome screen when browsing to http://<appliance-ip>/ I guess that there is a slim chance that perhaps there is a problem with whichever build you have downloaded and installed, but as all the builds come from the same source AFAIK I think that is unlikely.

Are you sure that you are using the phpBB appliance and not the LAMP appliance? The behaviour you describe sounds like what you would expect from the LAMP appliance. IIRC there is a way to confirm what the appliance is but I honestly don't remember... But you could do a quick check of the Apache sites-enabled directory ('ls /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/') which should return phpbb3 and phpmyadmin. If instead it returns default and phphmyadmin I'd nearly say that you have the LAMP appliance instead...

Hi,

I just checked what you suggested and indeed it looks like only a LAMP Appliance.

#ls /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/

000-default phpmyadmin

The above command does not show phpbb3 directory. But I still don't know why it is only a LAMP appliance when I had indeed downloaded a phpbb appliance version 11.3.

I will try downloading again and creating a VM one more time.

Thanks for all your help.

Regards,
