Can you provide more info...
TBH I'm not quite sure what you are asking and in relation to what software config...
At a guess I'm thinking perhaps Confconsole? Did DHCP not work? Furthermore this info will be dependant on your network... on a 192.168.1.x network the subnet will be 255.255.255.0 and the gateway will be the IP of your router (often 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.1.1 in consumer grade routers).
With more info I may be able to help you out more specifically...
