TurnKey Linux Virtual Appliance Library

Acces Turnkey in another location

So, how can I acces Turnkey in another location? Is that possible anyway?

I hope yes.

In a dorm, where I live mostly, there is a fix IP.

That's all, thanks.

(And sorry if there is any mistake, my english is not the best.)

Theoretically yes

And as I read somewhere (I think it was someone's forum sig) "In theory pratice and theory are the same but in practce they're often not even close".

So what I am trying to say is that in theory you should be able to do it. But in practice it will depend on the network which your appliance runs on, how locked down it is and/or how much control you have on it. Whether it is possible or not will depend on if you can get a port forwarded from your public external IP to your LAN IP and/or a port opened in the firewall (assuming there is one).

Bottom line is that if you don't have control over that stuff you'll need to talk to someone who does and hope they're willing to set it up for you.

The other option is to run your server somewhere remotely. Then you'll be able to access it anywhere you can get internet access. The downside is that you'll probably have to pay for that privelege. Upside is that it will probably be faster than if you host it yourself.
