v16.0 Stable Release #11 - 7 updated ISOs, Hub, VM & Proxmox builds
I'm finally back with most of the outstanding v16 initial appliance release. This time it's 7 apps updated to v16.0. Just like the previous batch, this next instalment of v16.0 stable TurnKey Linux appliances includes Hub, ISO, VM (OVA/VMDK) and Proxmox/LXC build formats.
As per always, these updated appliances, are all published to our mirror network or they can be launched directly from the Hub. Alon has now updated the Hub to launch "16.x" as default, but for now, the old legacy 15.x appliances are still available (look for the 15.x text link - in the top right corner). They are also available for download direct from their relevant appliance pages (links provided below).
As per convention, I'll first highlight the most recent releases in this batch, but then also list all the v16.x appliances released to date. As noted previously, I have had reports that the OpenStack builds are good to go, but I'm yet to build those. Also as previously noted, the AWS Marketplace builds are now up too (including these ones)!
Latest v16.0 appliances
As noted above, you can find the latest 7 v16.0 appliances directly below. As per all the previous v16.0 appliances, they are based on Debian 10/Buster so have updated packages. The ones that include software installed directly from third parties have all been refreshed too. Where available, we tend to prefer the latest stable LTS (long term support) version of third party software. Otherwise, we install the latest stable release as of the time of the build. Many also include bug fixes, improvements and/or inclusion of feature requests. Please see the specific appliance changelogs for full info (or ask in the comments).
Please note that these are all released in ISO, Hub, LXC/Proxmox and VM (OVA & VMDK) builds. In alphabetical order, here are the most recently updated apps:

Outstanding v16.x apps - LXC
The most significant v15.x appliance that hasn't yet been updated to v16.0 is our LXC appliance. The main reason for that is that our appliance was designed to run privileged LXC guests. However Debian Buster based guests running on a Debian Buster based host will not run cleanly as privileged LXC guests by default. Also, it's not really ideal to run unprivileged guests. I did spend a bit of time trying to move our appliance to an unprivileged guest model by default, but after spending a fair bit of time, I still couldn't get it working nicely. So I've made the executive decision to put it aside for now.
If you are expert with LXC, I'd love to have your input and assistance. If you're a user who was really hoping to get the v16.0 LXC appliance into service, I hope to circle back and have another look at some point, but no promises on timeframe. In the meantime, if you have sufficient hardware handy (64 bit CPU with virtual extensions; i.e. AMD-V/VT-x for AMD/Intel respecitively) then Proxmox VE is probably a good option!
