After a brief delay, I'm back with some more updated appliances. Despite the delay, it's only 7 this time. We should be back on track next week though; fingers crossed. As per the previous one, this next instalment of v16.0 stable TurnKey Linux appliances includes Hub, ISO, VM (OVA/VMDK) and Proxmox/LXC build formats. We've also rebuilt some of the previous VMs as it was discovered that there was a bug.
As per always, these updated appliances, are all published to our mirror network or they can be launched directly from the Hub (look for the 16.x text link - in the top right corner). Please note, we will switch v16.x to be the Hub default soon. They are also available for download direct from their relevant appliance pages (links provided below).
As has become convention, I'll first highlight the most recent releases, but then also note all the v16.0 appliances released to date. Unfortunately, I still don't have any updates regarding the remaining alternate builds, but the AWS Marketplace builds are slowly moving now.
Latest v16.0 appliances
As noted above, you can find the latest 7 appliances updated to v16.0 directly below. As per all the previous v16.0 appliances, they are based on Debian 10/Buster so have updated packages. The ones that include software installed directly from third parties have all been refreshed too. Where available, we tend to prefer the latest stable LTS (long term support) version of third party software. Otherwise, we install the latest stable release as of the time of the build. Many also include bug fixes, improvements and/or inclusion of feature requests. Please see the specific appliance changelogs for full info (or ask in the comments).
Please note that these are all released in ISO, Hub, LXC/Proxmox and VM (OVA & VMDK) builds. In alphabetical order, here are the next 7 apps:
CouchDB |
Laravel |
LigHTTPd PHP FastCGI |
Moodle |
SimpleMachines |
SuiteCRM |
Vanilla |
All v16.0 apps to date
In alphabetical order, the appliances that have been released as v16.0 so far (including this release) are:
Rebuilt buggy VMs - OVA & VMDK builds
It was bought to our attention via the forums that some of our VM builds were failing to boot. You can read about the issue in the thread, but essentially it was an oversight on my behalf whilst working around another issue I hit in Debian Buster.
To resolve the issue, all the affected OVAs and VMDKs have now have been rebuilt. They were rebuilt as the same version, so unfortunately there is no way to be 100% sure that you've downloaded the fixed build. Having said that, as of the time of writing, all the fixed builds should have propagated across the mirror network by now (they were actually uploaded early last week). So if you've downloaded within the last week, you should be fine.
If you have any issues booting one of our VM builds (or any other build for that matter) please do not hesitate to report it.
AWS Marketplace builds
I've finally managed to block out some time and get a bit of traction with the AWS Marketplace builds. I still have quite a backlog, but I'm working through them. The first few should be updated already and the backlog should be resolved within the coming week or so.
