vmware tools problem

After installing vmware tools i try to execute vmware-config-tools.pl and i have the next error:

root@jordi-Vostro-400:/bin# vmware-config-tools.pl
Initializing...

This configuration program is to be executed in a virtual machine.

Execution aborted.
 

What i am doing wrong
