Anyone know if Joomla 1.6 Build can be upgraded to 2.5 via TKLBAM and v.12 Turnkey?

Wondering if I can install the new TKL Joomla 2.5 Appliance, then run tKLBAM REstore with my Joomla 1.6 Data and upgrade it in the process to 2.5.

Any thoughts other than to try it?

I would expect that you will need to do some tweaking

I'd probably try it first and see what happens (ie if it break, which I suspect it will) There may be some script and/or tutorial to allow the updating of data to migrate it to Joomla 2.5

As andy posted above its really simple.

I have performed it many times with about a 2-3% failure rate - so backup first!

Most failures were due to templates not being compatible.

Simply go to extensions > extension manager > update

Not much shows up until you hit find updates then once refreshed select it and chose update.

If any other updates appear try and do them first then do the joomla main update.

The update process takes 2 steps first is the initial update but after a while it will seem like nothing is happening. When you get here simply reload the admin page and log in. Go back to the update page and it will advise the update is not finished yet. Click update again and it should go through as successful. Easy!
