FTP and Change Files via AWS | TurnKey GNU/Linux

How do I change some of the files, upload templates, plugins, using AWS and SFTP? I see a great big jumble of files, nothing like I am used to on GODaddy. Serious noob here.

And what appliance are you using?

FWIW usually when you log in via SSH it will default to your home directory (in the case of a root login it will be /root). For a LAMP appliance you will most likely want to put your files in /var/www
