Upgrading a Joomla 1.6 appliance to the 2.5 version

Hello --

I am currently running a Joomla 1.6 appliance, that has been upgraded to version 1.7, and I would like to upgrade or convert it to a 2.5 release.

Is there a way to to upgrade the appliance without having to rebuild it completely from scratch?

Unfortunately we do not have any documentation on that. I'm sure that you could find official Joomla documentation of what is required to migrate data from 1.7 to 2.5.

My suggestion would be to take a backup of your current server and then follow the instructions. Perhaps it might be worth reading up on migrating to 3.4 too as that will be the next TurnKey release (hopefully no more than a few months away... Follow the blog to keep up to date on that.)
