Avoid upgrading TurnKey custom packages?

jeremiah.snapp's picture

I am running TurnKey Lamp 11.1 in vmware esxi.  I wanted to upgrade the vm so I ran 'apt-get dist-upgrade' and it wants to upgrade casper with the standard package from Ubuntu's lucid-updates/main repository.

Casper is one of TurnKey's custom packages so should I avoid updating it?

For that matter, should I always avoid upgrades if it would replace a TurnKey custom package with a standard Ubuntu package?

Does that mean I should avoid using 'apt-get dist-upgrade' and instead just use 'apt-get upgrade'?
