Would it be a better setup to create one medium instance and keep both the web files and the mysql database on the same instance, or create 2 small instances seperating one for web files and one for database only? Is there going to be latency caused by putting the db on a seperate instance? I am looking to get the highest performance possible out of this setup and I am new to setting up cloud instances having only setup physical servers on the same network in the past.
I ran into an issue on my old physical server with maxing out on allowed connections. I am looking to remedy this issue and would likely need to be able to handle up to 1000 simutaneous connections without slowdown.
Any tips, suggestions and help would be much appreciated.
These are on linux instances running LAMP.
Thank you
