Hi all,
I was configuring a LAMP and MySQL server for a third party app db and noticed a firewall in webmin and also one in the hub. Are they one and the same? If I change one will it appear in the other? It does not seem to from my very brief play with it...
Forum:
No, they're different AFAIK
The firewall included with the appliances (that you saw in Webmin) is the native Linux kernel Firewall, commonly referred to as IPtables.
AFAIK the firewall in the Hub is provided by AWS as a part of all of their cloud servers (but TKL gives you easy access).
thanks
thanks
Enabled by default?
Is the native Linux kernel firewall that's managed by Webmin enabled by default (when installed via an ISO to other than AWS)?
IP tables disabled by default
So in other words, by default there is no firewall enabled unless you launch an AWS instance.
