Hi,
I am fairly new to linux and its peculiarities, and often mind numbing configurations.
I have installed an appliance with the phpbb forum installed. All is working great except when the system emails out the address is always admin@example.com
After countless searches regarding postfix settings, hostnames domain names etc etc, chnages to postfix config, php.ini and SMTP settings I have finally given up and need to talk to someone who knows what they are doing :) I have checked most settings and can find no mention of admin@example.com it just appears like magic
So how can I configure the system to just send an email out with a default address.
Let me know what you need regarding info to nail this little sucker down...
Steve
Forum:
Have you looked in the PHPBB config?
I'm only guessing but have you looked within the PHPBB admin config itself? IIRC that is the default email address of the Admin account...
I have found that option
I have found that option within phpbb and changed both the return email address and contact email address, neither have made a change to the actual address being used on outgoing emails.
I am sure I am missing something really stupid !
screwed install
So I am guessing the install must be screwed in some way...
Back to square one and perhaps a manual install
Actually....
I recall there were some issues with the phpBB appliance not saving settings... Is this the v12.1 release? (I haven't tested that...)
