I have installed the canvas on the EC2

I am able to see canvas on the web browser, but i dont know what is the login for it.

On the webpage it says that the default login is admin@example.com, but it doesnt work.

I was able to login on ssh though.

Can you please let me know how to go about it?

Ratan

Then just make sure you set it in the Hub WebUI prior to launch (when you fill out the web form). Then the password should just work (i.e. you set it - no default). If launching elsewhere then you set it on firstboot.

I just checked the v12.1 TKL Canvas appliance (x64 version) on Proxmox (v3) and it asks me for a Canvas password on first boot...

Pre v12.1 you have to manually run the first boot scripts. Personally I have always done that from the PVE web console, but it shouldn't really matter.

turnkey-init

Should do the trick for you. I have on occasion had a strange bug where it didn't work the first time, but rerunning it seemed to resolve that...

[update] Actually you may be better off just downloading the new appliance? It has a newer version of Canvas... You still need to open a shell session to complete the firstboot scripts, but they will auto run on first console login.

Hi guys,

I cant seem to login after Canvas installation. Unforutnatelly my linux is that up to scratch. Would anyone be able to point me to a solution. Either retrieving the UN/PW or re-installing.

I ca succesfully log into my Command Line Shell.

Thanks

Then you should have set the Canvas admin password on first boot/first login. Did you do that and it doesn't work?

My problem seen to have migrated if you can still help please. As I don't know Linux that well, I decided to install another instance of canvas which worked. Logged in, the works. After logging out my domain doesn't load anymore. The aws instance is running and I have sftp access to the folders. Any ideas? Eugene Beetge

This is the forums for TurnKey Linux. So you installed a fresh Canvas appliance? Are you using the TurnKey Hub to launch your instance? How/where did you configure your domain?

I really need more info before I can be of any help to you...

HI Jeremy,

I did the launch on AWS on a EC3 virtual machine with your app on their AWS market. Not sure if the problem is on their side or maybe on the code on the installation.

Its not mission critical however and I am purelly trying to see what happened.

Thanks

I'm not sure whether it is the issue for you or not, but there is a bug in the current Canvas appliance that can be quite easily resolved. Have a look here (three lines of code).

As for your issue with your domain not loading anymore I have no idea. I have no idea how you have your server set up (Do you have a static/elastic IP? What DNS service are you using/have you configured? etc...). If you launch through AWS MarketPlace then I'm not even really sure what options are available (I don't use the AWS Control Panel - I have always used TurnKey Hub to launch and manage my TKL servers on AWS).
