You are here
Sorry. I know I've been down this road before. I cannot seem to find a current reference to the problem.
I installed the current (v13.0 ... wheezy) lamp server (from CD built from downloaded ISO image) on a 64 bit intel based machine about a week ago. The initial update went without incident and a subsequent 'apt-get install cifs-utils' also went without incident.
After messing with the apache configurations for a while I lost my place. No problem. I reperformed the install. The initial update failed. I waited a couple of days and reperformed the install. The update still fails.
I don't think it's me ... but I've done dumb things in the past.
Is it me? Or is anyone else having trouble with apt-get on this lamp release?
Thanks,
Stan
P.S. I have a v12.0 (squeezy) on an x86 machine on which update works without fail.
Just tested...
I just downloaded and did a ISO/CD install onto some hardware tonight using the v13 lamp and updates with no issue.
What cammands did you perform to kick off to perform the install? I'll try an see if I can get the same results. Also what files were you messing with in apache? Were you using webmin or manual editor?

Found it!
Thanks, Ken.
Sometimes I just need to get kicked in the head. I did do this same thing to myself a couple of years ago with this same server. I had moved it to a secure network with a very tough firewall. No domain name server access.
It works fine. Once I get it updated I'll secure it again and put a big note on it regarding network access.
Again, thanks.
Stan
Know the feeling...
Been there, done that got the t-shirt and coffee mug! Some times it's the simple things. I know in my line of work with troubleshooting issues with lots of moving parts it's easy to over look a very small part that gums up the whole works.
Glad you got it figured out!

Ken
