hello everyone,

I am kind of getting mixed answers about how to setup, a domain and point it to the servers IP with Port 8080
What would be the easiest way to go about doing this? and to ensure that i can use   example.com   to this server running port 8080.

Much help appreciated!

Generally DNS resolves a domain to an IP address (with no port). When you use a web browser without a port number, the web browser assumes the default ports (80 for http & 443 for https). There may be some DNS trickery to make a domain map to a specific port, but AFAIK it's not something that you can configure from within your machine.

You could then make port 80 redirect to port 8080 but I'm guessing that's not what you're trying to do.
