Thanks for bringing a great idea to life!

I am looking at putting up a Joomla site, and am considering using the Turnkey Linux images.

However I would feel much more confortable if I understood exactly how and what was installed. I am hesitating to build a live web site I do not fully understand.

Would it be possible for you to reveal the installation instructions you use to build the images?

This would also allow people to tweak the last bits and pieces more easily.

Once again thanks for a great initiative...

Firstly, thanks for the encouragement, we love receiving feedback.

With regards to what is installed, each appliance page includes a link to the relating package manifest adjacent to the download link, for example:
Download 169MB: turnkey-joomla-2009.07.1-hardy-x86.iso (sig) (manifest)
The development process for creating a Live CD from scratch is a bit complicated, so we are planning on developing an easy customization mechanism. There is nothing secret about it though, it is pretty well documented, take a look at Developing Live CDs on our development wiki for more information.

If you haven't already, also take a look at the community development page.

I hope the above answers your questions.
