If it's going to be like a blog, then WordPress is a no brainer. Otherwise from my (limited) knowledge perhaps Joomla may be better. AFAIK Joomla is more adaptable and customisable. So if you plan to have lots of different content, then that may be a better choice?

Out of interest the TKL website is built on Drupal (which from what I gather is somewhat similar to Joomla - at least from a site visitor's perspective.
