I have not spent extensive time testing the Domain Controller but I have tested it and was successfully able to join a Win 7 ("Ultimate") machine to it fine. I set a static IP on the Domain Controller then configured the Win7 guest to use the DC as it's DNS provider. IIRC I had to set the clock on the Win7 machine. If the clocks are out by more than a minute or 2 they won't connect.

Also are you using the "Pro" or "Ultimate" version of Windows to connect to the Domain Controller? It won't work with "Home" or "Standard" versions of Windows.
