NTFS mounting problems

gettechbsc's picture

I am having problems mounting my NTFS drives.  I believe the ntfs-3g drivers are installed and when I try to run the NTFS-config I get this error

(ntfs-config:11946): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:

I have been battling this now for 3 days and have went back and forth between here and the Unbuntu site.  Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't think NTFS drivers are installed by default

or did you mean you had already installed them? Try this and you will know (it will return with words to the effect that "ntfs-3g is already at the latest version" or similar if its already installed)

apt-get update
apt-get install ntfs-3g

If that doesn't help, then there is a topic here which may also provide some info and hints as well as some links that may be useful for you.

Good luck!
