LocalSettings edit in MediaWiki

wcfloyd's picture

I have the MediaWiki VM up and running and it's working great.  I thought I would start to edit some of the settings now to customize it for my use but when I can't seem to edit the LocalSettings.php.  I would assume that the gedit command would work but it doesn't.  I'm the first to admit that I have limited experince with Linux but I know I have used that command before.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

If you get a blank page, double check your path and filename (case sensitive). If it doesn't exisit nano will create the file rather than error.
