Joomla 2.5 VM?

jwellner's picture

Hey guys!

Just wondering if there are plans for a Joomla 2.5 appliance or if the 1.6 and updating it to 2.5 is the way to go at this time.

Both I'd say!

I strongly suspect that the guys plan to release a Joomla 2.5 appliance. But not sure when... So in the meantime updating is probably the go...

Joomla 2.5 VM

umm, no answer since 7/24/2012. Does this mean Jeremy is correct? I would be very pleased to see a 2.5 version, too...

Best regards, Stephan

Whether or not it will be 2.5 remains to be seen

But there will definately be an updated version coming soon(ish). Usually the guys will release new appliances with the latest stable/supported version of software included (assuming they don't use software from the default repos - which they can't with Joomla). This would lead me to beleive that it will definatel be v2.something...

Use the LAMP appliance...

...and install Joomla 2.5 manually as you would on any other server. Only takes 5 minutes and it's ready to go. Also Joomla 3.0 is planned for September, Alpha 1 has been released 2 weeks ago.
