Successful Install, Able to Ping, But Cannot Connect to Anything

bruce_w_98's picture

Hi all.  I install LAMP on a VMWare box on Windows and it went through perfectly.  I can ping the ip address of the installation from within Windows.  The problem is that when I open a browser and try to go to any of the links e.g. web shell or web admin, the pages do not load.  It keeps saying the website is not available.

Why is this happening?  Thanks.

Figured It Out

AVG Firewall was causing the problem.  To allow bridged networking as of AVG 9: Tools/ Firewall settings/ Defined networks/ Fictive local IP addresses. Edit the fictive network to include the local IP address or range of addresses of your virtual machines. Hope this helps.
