Hello all!,

I'm getting this security warning from webmin, somthing I didn't have with older version so I'm a bit stuck on why?

Warning! Webmin has detected that the program https://192.168.1.15:12321/webmin/edit_referers.cgi was linked to from an unknown URL, which appears to be outside the Webmin server. This may be an attempt to trick your server into executing a dangerous command.

If your browser does not send the Referer header needed, you can turn off this check as follows :

  • Login to Webmin normally.
  • Go to the Webmin Configuration module.
  • Click on the Trusted Referrers icon.
  • Check the Trust links from unknown referrers box, and click Save.

Alternately, you can configure Webmin to allow links from unknown referers by :

  • Login as root, and edit the /etc/webmin/config file.
  • Find the line referers_none=1 and change it to referers_none=0.
  • Save the file.

The webmin configuration module gives me this error trying to fix this error...lol and so I logged in with putty and edited the config file under /etc/webmin/config and it still give the error, I rebooted just got grins and no luck, any clues?

I"m running a vbox on windows 8 x64 with a bridged adapter and accessing from the host pc.

Thanks

Dwaine

Greetings,

I know this is an older post, but I had to add...   Getting the exact same thing on Webmin 1.690 using a lynx console browser from linux.  Have already done both suggested fixes and still the issue persists.

Any thoughts?
