I have a Turnkey Mediawiki version 11.1 running Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS that I am trying to get upgraded to Turnkey Mediawiki 14.2 which appears to be the latest and greatest as of this post. I stood up and configured the the 14.2 version and then attempted to migrate over my LocalSettings.php and the database backup which I ran manually but the site doesn't show anything. In short, what is the most efficient/effective method to migrate or upgrade this 11.1 version of Mediawiki?
Forum:
You'll need to upgrade the database at least
Also, a fundamental difference between the v11.x appliance and the v14.2 appliance is how MediaWiki is installed. In v11.x (and v12.x, v13.x, v14.0 & v14.1) TurnKey MediaWiki used the Debian MediaWiki package (actually it was an Ubuntu package in v11.x) from the repos. In v14.2 we moved to installing it directly from upstream source code (i.e. direct from MediaWiki themselves). The main thing to be aware of, is that the files location will be quite different. We have a doc page on migrating from Mediawiki v14.1 to v14.2.
Whilst that doc will likely not be all you'll need to do (because your version is so old), it should cover most of the process. At the very least, I'm pretty sure you'll also need to run the update script.
I hope that helps. If you hit any issues, please post and I'll do my best to help you out. And hopefully I'll respond a bit quicker next time...
