Short Bio
My name is Michael, and I currently work as a webdesigner and online marketing manager at Alphaweb Webbureau Aalborg. I mainly design new websites in WordPress, or Webshops in Magento or WooCommerce. I do everything from creating a modern webdesign for the website or webshop to implementing it in WordPress, optimizing the website with caching and other performance plugins. Enhancing website security or doing various types of seo optimization on the website. Beside webdesign and website optimizations I also do custom coding for those who need unique or additional features on the website. For more information visit my official Wordpress website here

I also work a little bit with server managed, setting up Linux Lamp, optimizing performance (still much to learn here) and other types of server admin jobs. This isn't my main area of experience, which is why I signed up for this site here to learn more about Linux and server stuff.

At Alphaweb I also work with customer support and other IT support tasks, but my main job is online marketing such as Google Ads, seo and SoMe marketing. But mainly it's webdesign and website optimization. I have about 13 years of experience with webdesign, and while I am still far from an expert when it comes to building beautiful webdesigns, I have come a long way from when I started out. When I build a new website, some of the things I focus on (beside a good webdesign) is building a webshop/or website that is easy to use for the visitors. Easy to navigation around in, and making it easy to find the information or products they are looking for. A website which the search engines can easily crawl and understand. And most important - a webdesign that actually does it main functions. Converting visitors into real customers - something that way to many webdesigners ignore these days while trying to build a better looking website instead. And while a good looking webdesign is important, it's more important to have a webdesign that can create customers and increase your earnings. You need to consider things such as easy navigation, good content, internal link structure and of course fast page loads to give the visitors a good experience when they visit your website. For webshops with many products, using the right categories, filtered navigation and such can be essential to boosting conversion and sales.
For now I mainly work with WordPress websites as it's much easier to use, both for me, but also for the site owner. It's easy to scale and you can find plugins for almost any feature you can think about. This often makes it much cheaper for the owner compared to having to hire a developer to build most features from the bottom. For webshops WooCommerce is a great addition to WordPress and you get a fully working webshop with the excellent CMS features from Wordpress. I am not saying it's the best solution for all, far from. But for the majority of websites it the best solution when you compare price/features and ease of use. I have build websites in other systems like Drupal, Joomla, Magento 1 and 2 and many other systems, but for most tasks I prefer WordPress.

I have also worked with several different types of Linux systems, but at the moment my favorite is Ubuntu which I use a platform for most of the websites and webshops we build. Shoot me a PM if you have any question or just want to say hello.
