In this virtual event, several leading coliving habitats were presented, critiqued, and discussed by all the speakers of the session. The Speakers of Habitats 2020 There were about 6 speakers in this virtual session, and each of them was representing their organizations and the respective projects headed by those organizations. All the speakers of that session are mentioned below: Kelsea Crawford She is the co-founder and current CEO of Cutwork. She was also the main host and the discussion moderator of the Habitats 2020 session. Antonin Maeno He is also the co-founder of Cutwork, and currently a partner architect in the company. He was also part of the session and was a moderator. Sinus Lynge He is currently a partner in EFFEKT and was a part of this session as a Panel Speaker to present his company’s project. Tom Callebaut He is the founder and lead architect of TC plus. He was present in the discussion as a Panel Speaker. Andres Gobba He is the founding partner and director of MAPPA. He was also present as the Panel speaker of this online session, representing his company. Matt Lesniak Matt Lesniak, the cofounder of Conscious Coliving was present as a guest moderator of the session. He contributed by discussing the various aspects of the coliving projects discussed in the session. What was Matt Lesniak’s role in the discussion? As the guest moderator of the discussion, Matt Lesniak mainly asked questions from the panel speakers of Habitats 2020, after they have presented their projects in detail. Matt basically used the paradigms Conscious Coliving generated in their Manifesto to ask the panel speakers about the feasibility of their projects and the wider implications of those projects on the standards of coliving. These were some of the domains Matthew Lesniak was concerned about, and his questions were tightly bounded to these themes: How sustainable these projects are for the economy and the environment? Will such a project ensure the mental and physical wellbeing of the individuals? Will the projects ensure productive and positive social interactions, that would foster good connections and healthier relationships? Will the project connect people to themselves and nature? These themes encouraged a better outlook on the projects and their feasibility. Maybe, it also led to certain realizations within the panel speakers to further improve their projects, and come up with a business model that will further the coliving business, make coliving spaces more affordable, innovative, and produce a sustainable design that could even induce the governments to cooperate. Final Thoughts Conscious Coliving aims to spread its vision for a housing system where people are connected to self, the community, and nature. They aim to go under the guidelines of UN development programs that advocate for sustainable growth that promises the wellbeing of the people too. For fulfillment of this vision, they collaborate with various organizations and contribute to their discussions.
