My name is Timothy and I am in charge of the website + technology at TreatMyWrinkles Bournemouth. When we started, we just had a simple wordpress website. But now as we grow, we need more flexible solutions and we need to manage clients online. Therefore we are looking to have proper web development. Web development is the process of building, creating and maintaining websites. It usually involves the use of languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Back-end development: This involves building the server-side of a website, including the database and server-side scripts. It typically involves the use of languages such as Python, Ruby, PHP, and JavaScript (with the Node.js framework). Content management systems (CMS): CMS is a software that allows users to create, manage, and publish content on a website without requiring technical skills. WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal are examples of popular CMS. Database: This is where the website's data is stored, such as user information, blog posts, and product listings. Hosting: Websites are hosted on servers, which are essentially powerful computers that store and serve up website files to users. Web development frameworks, such as React, Angular and Vue.js, are libraries that provide a structure to web development and help in building complex and scalable web applications. Web development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum and Waterfall are used to plan, execute and monitor web development projects. Web development is a constantly evolving field and new technologies and tools are being developed all the time. There are many ways to learn programming, including taking online courses, reading books, and practicing by building small projects. Some popular programming languages for beginners include Python, JavaScript, and Scratch. It's important to find a learning resource that suits your learning style and to practice consistently.
