- Dr. Steve Chan works at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cyber security and focuses upon anomaly and aberration detection. His presentations and lectures have been featured at the White House, National Research Council of the National Academies, Aspen Security Forum, Todd Lecture Series, and a number of United Nations venues. He serves as a reviewer and presenter for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers or IEEE Access in the area of cyber security as well as various other IEEE venues, such as IEEE Smart Grid Utility Cybersecurity. He serves on a number of review committees, such as the IEEE and NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence’s International Conference on Cyber Conflict or CyCon, IEEE Information Technology, Electronics, and Mobile Communication Conference or IEMCON, as well as IEEE Ubiquitous Computing, Electronics & Mobile Communication Conference or UEMCON. Dr. Chan previously held academic appointments as a Chief Technology Officer for the MIT Laboratory for the Public Engagement with Science or E-Lab, Chief Software Architect/Fellow within the MIT Engineering Systems Division, and a National Preparedness Fellow within the MIT School of Engineering with a concentration on Cyber Security, Dynamic High-Performance Computing, and Large-Scale Systems Design. https://scholar.harvard.edu/sensemakingscholar/home
