To find out reasonable expectations of weight loss you can do the following. Go online and search for a calculator calories. This calculates the number of calories you burn in a day (referred to as calorie maintenance). It takes about 3,500 calories to burn one pound of fat. So if you want to lose 5 £ per week you need to burn more calories than you consume 17,500 weeks at a time or calorie deficit of 2,500 per day. So let's say calorie maintenance is 3,000 a day; you need to go on a 500 calorie diet today (500-3000 -2500 = calorie deficit) to lose 5 £ per week.
Overall 500 calories is not considered a healthy diet and today can be damaging to your body. So what you can do is add exercise to increase the amount of calories burned on your own. One hour of cardio workout burns about 500 calories (Note that this does not have to be in one sitting, you could do two sessions of 30 minutes). Even if you add this exercise routine to your day, you can go in the 1,000-calorie diet today and lose about five pounds a week. This would be much healthy than 500 calories in the diet plan today and this is probably the best results you can expect. To set realistic and achievable objectives for weight loss I have a little rule of thumb: lose about 1% of body weight per week.
