About Jupiter Homes

Jupiter real estate permits you to find homes of virtually any type, any size, and within any price range. From the huge mansion style homes that belong to well-known celebrities to far more affordable condos that will fit in with almost every real estate purchasing plan. Many of the homes that Jupiter hosts are located on the waterfront, while other properties are situated at the side of championship designed golf courses.

Established by William Lauderdale in 1838, Jupiter was originally established as a fortress, and Jupiter was at that time, in fact, referred to as Old Fort Jupiter. Then, William Lauderdale traveled southwards and founded Fort Lauderdale. The path that he took, known as Military Trail, was named in his honor, and is now a major thoroughfare that runs north to south adjacent to the historic US Highway 1.

Jupiter, with its current population of a little over 50,000, consists of around 21 square miles. Much of its borders are alongside the Atlantic Ocean as well as the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW). Jupiter possesses its own inlet, which provides for easy access to the deep blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, making it ideal for boating and fishing enthusiasts alike.

In 1860, Jupiter Lighthouse, which is situated by the inlet, was completed, and remains as the oldest structure in the county of Palm Beach.

Jupiter, which sits below the Florida freeze line, is highly regarded by patrons for its warm temperatures and beaches. The water temperatures tend to average in the 80s, thereby making swimming, snorkeling, beach going, and surfing, a year round activity.

What’s more, Jupiter hosts a number of the finest golf courses in the country. Some of the best-known designers, including Jack Nicklaus and Tom Fazio, are resident in the town. Other golfing greats to live in Jupiter or surrounding areas include Ray Floyd, Charles Schwartzel, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods.

At the local Maltz Theatre, there are excellent cultural events to be enjoyed, or head to downtown Palm Beach to pay a visit to the Kravis Center and enjoy concerts, plays, and other events.

The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary represents a not-for-profit care facility for injured animals. There you can witness native panthers, owls, bears and alligators, all homed within the intimate zoo.

Further, the Riverwalk, which is newly completed, makes for an excellent place for a stroll and for watching the yachts as they gently weave through the waters of the Intracoastal Waterway. Also located by the inlet is DuBois Park, a terrific locale for young swimmers and for fishing.

To maintain a more than satisfied palette. There are shack style restaurants and dining establishments that feature the best of fisheries available in the country. For whole foods and the optimal shopping experience from Nordstrom to Bloomingdales, visit the Palm Beach Gardens Mall.

To reach Palm Beach and Palm Beach International Airport, simply head down down the I-95 to Florida’s Turnpike. It’s a mere 20-minute commute.

Jupiter has it all with its sophistication in style and its sublime beauty.
