I'm trying to figure out how to get a Turnkey/Joomla appliance - with one default Joomla site - to handle multiple sites, with separate structure and database.

Is it just a matter of creating additional databases and make multiple copies of an out-of-the-box Joomla site. After that making the Apache2 setup files and the hit the road ?

Or is there a more correct and simple way of doing this, with respect of the toptuned Turnkey/Joomla configuration ??

Best regards

The easiest way would be to use a separate VM for each site.

I have seen people set up multiple virtual hosts each with a Joomla install, but you are going to do a lot of work on the TKL appliance to get there.

Whilst there is some redundancy with that method, the setup is really easy and it allows you to play with stuff without fear of bringing everything crashing down!

Running one VM per site is nuts, espcially if you have 50+ sites!

We have the problem of running mutiple Joomla  Sites at the moment, all the sites are perfect, but when a new Joomla update is out, updating 50+ sites is really really time consuming! Espcially when updates seem to come out once a week!

Having a appliance that run mutiple sites off different databases would mean one update (not to meantion a simple click of a button!)
