I am curious as to how the TKLDEV Debian bootstrap is created.

The readme for TKLDEV (https://github.com/turnkeylinux-apps/tkldev/blob/master/docs/setup.rst#1...) states (3rd paragraph):

"TurnKey's bootstrap is similar to the bootstrap filesystem created by Debian's debootstrap tool, except it is slightly smaller and more efficient. Other then that there is nothing TurnKey specific about it so you can roll your own if you don't want to use the bootstrap tarballs TurnKey provides for convenience."

I'm familiar with and have used debootstrap before. I am just curious as to what you did to make your's "slightly smaller and more efficient".

I could not find any documentation or script(s) that seemed to deal with the creation of the Debian bootstrap. Obviously I might have overlooked something.

I'd love to have instructions and/or a script to re-create the current bootstraps. I like to take things apart and see how they are built. This seems to be the one area of TLKDEV that isn't documented / scripted (in an obvious manner anyway).

Thanks for any insight, pointers, help.

And I have no idea how you would even begin to go about building your own... :(

So sorry I'm not a lot of help...

And FWIW I have lodged an 'issue' on the TurnKey Tracker.

Not sure when we'll get the details public though...
