hi,

I'm trying to backup my subversion database (turnkey 14 Redmine) through

svnadmin dump /srv/repos/svn > repos_svn.dump which generate a 357 Mo file.

if I use xz -9 or 7z -mx9 on that file, after 15% of the file processed, xz or 7z is killed :-)

if I use xz -8 or 7z -mx 8 file are processed correctly.

Strange isn'it ?

And when that happens the kernel OOMKiller will kill the process that is using the most RAM. Although as I say it's only a guess. I suggest that you check on resource usage while it is running.
