Forum login with OpenID

drobertson's picture

Is there a way for the OpenID login option of this forum to give hints or links to providers?  Without it, I find it difficult to have to go look up the correct format.  I don't work with Drupal, so I don't know what is available, but a system like the one at StackOverflow would be great.

Added to the todo list, but it's not trivial to implement this

Great idea Dan! I just took at what StackOverflow is doing and I really like it. Drupal should make it possible to either hack the login form template or at least write a custom module that implements this. It doesn't look too complicated so I've added this idea to the todo list but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a Drupal module we can just grab off the shelf for this purpose.

I made it happen

Turns out this wasn't so complicated after all. Thanks again Dan for suggesting the idea!

Just tried it out and it works great!  Thanks!

Works perfectly for me as well.

Nice added touch.

Added OpenID support to the Hub as well

I just deployed OpenID support to the TurnKey Hub as well.

OpenID in the Hub -- additional associations?

I'd like to give someone else at my work access to the hub account I've set up.  I use a google account to login to the Hub.

In the Hub, in User Profile, under OpenID Associations, I click 'Add Another', then the smaller 'g' icon on the second line to associate rather than login.  I enter his google account email address and click associate, and get:

OpenID failure

An error occured with your OpenID. Please tryLogin or Sign up again.

OpenID discovery error: HTTP Response status from identity URL host is not 200. Got status 404

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong (eg. it's not an email address that goes in that field) or if there's something wrong in the configuration.
