TurnKey Linux Virtual Appliance Library

Cannot see LAMP appliance on network

robehr's picture

I am a newbie to Turnkey LAMP and VMware.  I successfully installed VMware Player 3.0 on my MS Vista machine as well as successfully installed the Turnkey LAMP appliance.  My problem now is that I cannot "see" the VM on my network from other PCs.  The IP address range assigned to the appliance also seem to be outside the IP range as specified on my router.  If I ping the IP addresses provided after installing th LAMP applicaation it times out. I suppose I need to alter the settings on my host machine?? Can any body please steer me in the right direction?

Make sure you are using bridged networking

Can you see the appliance from the local PC? What about pinging out from it to another PC on your network?

I'm not sure but it sounds like you may be using the wrong network setting in VMware.
