Elgg appliance configuration issues

Forum:

Hi All,

I've successfully installed the Elgg 14.1 appliance in many different environments but I'm running into some issues with configuration.

Just working with a private IP when hitting the index page in a browser an Elgg page loads without style. Every link on the page goes to (https):// www . example . com . Also it seems like https is forced.

Are there additional configuration steps that need to be taken?

TKL cron tasks not running after restore to a new instance

Forum:

I recently restored a backup to a new instance.  Most things are running fine, except the cron task that looks like:

/etc/cron.daily/apt
/etc/cron.daily/etckeeper
/etc/cron.daily/mysqloptimize
/etc/cron.daily/man-db
/etc/cron.daily/logrotate
/etc/cron.daily/tklbam-backup
/etc/cron.daily/apache2
/etc/cron.daily/passwd
/etc/cron.daily/dpkg
/etc/cron.daily/bsdmainutils
/etc/cron.daily/ntp

Isn't running. It's set to run as root. When I run it manually from Webmin this message appears:

error while loading shared libraries

Forum:

OK, I figured it out. Please ignore.

============================

I am trying to move an application I developed over two yeas ago from LAMP 13.0 to 14.1. I have setup a new 64 bit Linux Mint machine using Eclipse IDE. I link to the mysql client library and there are no errors or warnings during compile.

My problem is when I try to run the code on TKL LAMP 14.1. I get "error while loading shared libraries: libmysqlclient.so.18: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Where to configure backup_root for tklbam-backup

Forum:

Hi,

I've neen using a number of turnkey appliances for a while now and have been very happy with them. TKLBAM has been especially useful on a number of occasions.

I ran into a problem with an overnight backup.

When tklbam-backup ran it created a /TKLBAM directory to build the backup in before sending off to our backup server. This managed to fill the root filesystem. I tried setting up /TKLBAM as a symbolic link, however this bombed with an error

LAMP PHP file creation

Forum:
I cannot create files in PHP using my LAMP VM. When I upload the site to my web host however everything works fine. I know that it's possible to enable this functionality in my Turnkey LAMP appliance, but I clearly don't know what terms to search for, because I haven't found anything. I know this is a frustrating newbie question, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Upgrading to MySQL 5.7 (for v14 LAMP based appliance)

Forum:

Note: this was originally a support question but as often happens, I solved my own problem.  I was able to successfully upgrade to MySQL 5.7 and for other's who may be interested, here's what the process was like.

Warning! Do this at your own risk!  Make sure you backup your database first.  These instructions are by no means an endorsement of 5.7 or it's appropriateness for other programs that use MySQL in your appliance.

LAMP not working as expected (.htaccess and ssl issues)

Forum:

We've been running our own internal web server for more and a decade and switched to TurnKey Linux several years ago. TKL LAMP 12 was the last version we got working. Due to its age, we attempted to rebuild a new server with LAMP 14.0 and have been fighting with this ever since, even retrying with the updated 14.1 that has since come out and it still does not work as expected.

The premise of what we want to do:

CSF firewall for TurnkeyLinux

Forum:

Please suggest

Can we install CSF in turnkey Linux, if I yes then what about current firewall (IPtables) running ?

Actually, I need some automated firewall which blocks the Ip if found DDos attack etc.
