New TurnKey Gallery version (2009.10)

Changes:

  • Initial public release of TurnKey Gallery.
  • SSL support out of the box.
  • Gallery configurations:
    • Preconfigured gallery to use webroot and database.
    • Added support for URL rewriting.
  • Includes postfix MTA (bound to localhost) to allow sending of email from Gallery (e.g., password recovery). Also includes webmin-postfix module for convenience.
  • PHPMyAdmin related:
    • Includes PHPMyAdmin (listening on port 12322 - uses SSL).
    • Includes pmadb (linked tables) advanced features.
    • Pinned PHPMyAdmin to update directly from Debian (security).
  • Regenerates all secrets during installation / firstboot (security).

Changes:

  • Initial public release of TurnKey File Server.
  • SSL support out of the box.
  • File Server configurations:
    • Preconfigured workgroup: WORKGROUP
    • Preconfigured netbios name: FILESERVER
    • Configured samba user accounts to synchronize with UNIX user accounts.
    • Configured root as administrative Samba user.
    • Configured shares: - Users home directory. - Public storage. - CD-ROM with automount and umount hooks (/media/cdrom).
  • eXtplorer configuration:
    • Provides web interface to file server.
    • Preconfigured admin and guest users.
    • Includes vsftpd binded to localhost to provide net2ftp backend: - Provide users access to their home directories. - Workarounds permission issues with eXtplorer.
    • Includes flip to convert text file endings between UNIX and DOS formats.
    • Includes popular compression support (zip, rar, bz2).
    • Enabled multiverse Ubuntu repository so rar/unrar can be updated.
  • Regenerates all secrets during installation / firstboot (security).

New TurnKey ejabberd version (2009.10)

Changes:

  • Initial public release of TurnKey ejabberd.
  • SSL support out of the box.
  • ejabberd configurations:
    • Preconfigured with exemplary domain (example.com).
    • Configured admin@example.com as registration watcher.
    • Includes custom ejabberd-config script to change domain and set admin password (included as part of installation).
    • Enabled in-band user registration (usability, convenience).
    • Enabled legacy SSL connection method (still required by some clients).
    • Set erlang node: ejabberd@localhost (workaround mnesia hostname changes).
    • Binded admin console to port 12322 - uses SSL.
    • Enabled hardy-backports and pinned ejabberd for updates (security).
  • speeqe configurations:
    • Installed and configured to provide web chat interface.
    • Configured ejabberd with anonymous access for speeqe to connect.
    • Created ejabberd robot XMPP user for speeqe to list active rooms.
    • Includes local JQuery library (internal deployment).
  • Includes postfix MTA (bound to localhost) to allow sending of email from speeqe. Also includes webmin-postfix module for convenience.
  • Regenerates all secrets during installation / firstboot (security).
