Release focus: security, usability, bugfixes and updates
Changes:
- added SSL support
- clean urls supported out of the box (SEO)
- added many popular drupal6 modules:
- fckeditor: enables FCKeditor (a WYSIWYG editor) instead of plain text fields
- captcha: adds image or text based CAPTCHAs to arbitrary forms
- fivestar: simple five-star voting widget for nodes
- pathauto: allow modules to automatically generate descriptive aliases for the content they manage (SEO)
- xmlsitemap: Generates an XML site map which can be submitted automatically to search engines (SEO)
- tagadelic: makes weighted tag clouds from your taxonomy terms
- webform: enables the creation of forms and questionnaires
- admin_menu: adds a dropdown administration menu to the top of the screen (administrators only)
- google_analytics: adds Google Analytics javascript tracking code to all your site's pages
- cck: Content Creation Kit - a powerful toolkit for creating custom content types
- views: creates customized views of node lists
- lightbox2: enables the use of lightbox2 which places images above your current page, not within. This frees you from layout constraints.
- logintoboggan: improves Drupal's login system
- token: provides a shared API for replacement of textual placeholders with actual data
- mysql-related improvements
- include PhpMyAdmin (listening on port 12322 - uses SSL)
- set empty mysql root password in live/demo mode (for convenience)
- support configuring mysql root password during installation
- bind postfix MTA to localhost (security)
- added webmin postfix module (convenience)
- prevent drupal6 upgrades from recreating apache config symlink (bugfix)
- symlink /etc/drupal6 -> /etc/drupal/6 (workaround for silly packaging)

Release focus: security, usability, bugfixes and updates

- Initial public release of the TurnKey Linux "core": It's the basic appliance on top of which all TurnKey Linux appliances are now built.
- Upgraded base distribution to Ubuntu 8.04.2 LTS

- Changed default console font to improve readability of console dialogs
- Added a few generically useful packages (iptables, ntp, nano)
- Updated /etc/network/interfaces to support multiple network interface cards
- Replaced metalog with sysklogd/klogd
- Optimized footprint (rebuilt from bare essentials)
- Added the release package that holds this changelog

Changes:
- Updated to latest Joomla version - 1.5.8 (release notes)
- Ability to configure the Joomla global configuration from within Joomla (LP#291041)
- Joomla SEO configured and enabled by default
- Joomla secret key is regenerated during installation

- Allow the user to set the mysql root password during installation
- Fixed manual partitioning support in the installer (#LP301251)
