Has to be out of the way

AdSense is OK with me as long as it does not interfere with the site's content.

Its a bit ugly but...

While I think its a bit ugly and may somewhat spoil the clean glossy professional look of the site, you've gotta pay the bills somehow! Go for it I say!

I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but perhaps you could offer a TKL membership/subcription that would allow donating members to disable the ads?

Yeah, AdSense is kind of ugly by default

You'd think Google, with all of their billions could afford to hire someone with a decent sense of style. AdSense just looks... cheap. It's kind of silly but a big part of the reason we're hesitant to add it is we don't want anything spoiling the look of the site.

Well, maybe if it's themed carefully it wouldn't look so bad. We might do an experiment and let it run for a few weeks to see how it goes. Not only is AdSense ugly, it is also known to perform very poorly on some sites. We'll see...

If its done tastefully then no worries.. Interesting that in a data movement world, money is made by ads..  Ads can be done really poorly, taking over.. dont do that!

I'm fine with text ads of any

I'm fine with text ads of any sort.  It's graphical ads that I tend to block by default.

I block adsense, and

I block adsense, and obviously wouldn't clic on it.

We never considered advertising in the appliances or the Hub

Frankly, I think that would be ridiculous. For a while we've been discussing the pros and cons of adding advertising on the web site, but we don't really consider Google AdSense to be a decent option. It would make more sense to advertise TurnKey-related sponsors directly.
