I just downloaded the lamp appliance and have it running.
Seems to work good. I have multiple people that will be working on a website.

How can I change the permissions so that only certain users will have certain permissions to folders of the website?

I Can create a user and set the home directory to there section of the website but I do not see a section where to set permissions so they only have access to a certain folder.

Hope someone can help. If Iam not clear enough on what I need let me know.

One of my projects requires my app to talk to an MS SQL service from time to time.

How does one setup the module to allow this as I currently get:

Call to undefined function mssql_query()

Using the LAMP Turnkey Linux ISO, I've installed an app on it to make a custom appliance.  My app does not have a clean package or installer, it was essentially a tar followed by a bunch of (interactive) SQL scripts. 

I was wondering how I can reset the "run on 1st boot" script (or a modified version) to let the user rebuild openssh keys and set a root password.

I've installed a Turnkey LAMP Appliance into a VMWare Fusion virtual machine (VM) and it works great.

However, when I copy it to another computer (with the same version of VMWare Fusion installed)  in the same local network and launch the VM, the Turnkey appliance is not able to obtain an IP address via DHCP.

I tried to set the static IP address manually, but it also would not save.

What do I need to do to resolve this?

however...

Attempt to update to latest drupal 6

NB I could only get the ubuntu updates to work by editing the sources.list file and changing it to

deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com......etc

Turnkeylinux name resolves to 97.107.134.22
hosts command seems sensible
Any ideas?

apt-get update gives following output:

Hello I am using the latest Turnkey witth Joomla 1.5.11, as I am a Joomla fan and wanted to have a test server. All is running in VMware server having 512Mb in the VM.

When I try to set a static IP on WordPress appliance the network configuration utility crashes.  I don't have this problem with MediaWiki appliance.

Hello i used the turnkey lamp appliance. I set a root password i installed and configured some cms and all was running fantastic. Then i did an update installed an nfs server and now i got the error:

sudo /etc/init.d/mysql restart
