How does the 'dashboard' differentiate between backups?

Forum:
Tags:

If I have multiple instances of an appliance, say 10 TKL LAMP servers, backing up to my one Hub account, how does the dashboard keep track of which is which?

Does it use the host name or some other criteria?

This is probably a dumb question but very important from the view of managing customers data.

Don

BTW: The several appliances I've tried so far seem solid and professionally done, very nice work.

Forum:

I am trying to upgrade SAMBA to v4 so i can add my win7 pc's into the Domain but they need AD support

I have installed SAMBA 4

/usr/local/samba

is where my v4 is

smbclient --version

proves that the old version is somewhere

/usr/local/samba/smbclient --version

Turnkey Magento: Magento Domain Set up

Forum:

Love Love Love that Magento is an appliance now!  Just have 1 nagging problem.

Going thru the install I get to "Enter the domain to serve Magento."

Does not matter if i input a IP address or anything else (i.e idontgetit.com),

Once it finishes installing I type the http://<ipaddress> in IE or Firefox and it does not load Magento

I can access webmin and all else but not Magento or Magento admin.  The IP address is trying to resolve to whatever I have input into the Magento Domain during setup.

What am I not understanding here?

how to retain Date Modified when copying files in linux?

Forum:

Hi guys!

I got a TKL Fileserver up and running for almost 6 months now. I am using a cron job to create a local backup of samba shares. I have noticed that the Date Modified of created backup files is the date when the files were created.

cron job: cp -R /mnt/fileserver/File-server /mnt/backup

I'm just wondering if I could leave the Dated Modified of the backup files same with the original files.

Thanks in advance!

A few questions from a new user.

Hi,

I just discovered TKL a few days ago and I'm really interested in using it.  I have a few questions though.

1) I would really like to use LVM snapshots as described here:

https://blueprints.launchpad.net/turnkeylinux/+spec/use-lvm-snapshots-with-tklbam

Is it something I'll be able to do using the existing configuration options or would I end up having to hack around in the /usr/lib/tklbam libs?
