So I decided to try out the Domain Controller app last night. Again, everything installed super smooth and fast. However, I noticed when i clicked on Samba File Sharing I got this message...
The configuration file /etc/samba/smb.conf was not found. Most likely Samba is not installed on your system, or your module configuration is incorrect.
Previously i was using owncloud on VM and it works flawlessly. So i decided to try way of using Owncloud through PROXMOX bcause it has some very good feutures.
I just having some configuration issue that unable to connect to my container. Even i had follow some guide out in the internet, the only thing i have accomplished that able to access internet through LXC but i cant access outside public network /LAN to my LXC. I believe its all about port forwarding process, but the thing i going through its so much confusing.
I recently discovered Turnkey and its plethora of app options....it is truely exciting. I have built quite a few file servers, so my first project was to try the Turnkey File Server. The install went extremely smooth using the ISO to install to a bare metal server. The server has 3 drives installed, so I installed the OS to a single drive with the intention of creating a RAID 1 with the other two drives.
Ok... I have been using Turnkey LAMP stack in production for years now.
This has happened in the past but not often enough for me to even warrant looking into until today.
Sometimes after the applicance has been running for several days I will get reports from my users that "things seem slow"... We are using MySQL and PHP for several applications and procedures that run on scheduled basis, etc. Well I will bring up my LAMP Stack Applicances Virtual Console window and see that its no longer sitting at the confconsole screen, but rather at a login screen.
When TKLBAM does a full backup the data directories do not appear to be picked up.
I have about 4 Gb of data on the server and the last backup was 75Mb.
Unless some sort of fantastic compression is going on it looks like something is being missed.
This used to work fine.
The data is being replicated on other devices outside of the EC2 just by the way ownCloud works however it would be nice to have TKLBAM pickup the data directories.
Anyone have any ideas as to where to look for the issue?
I've searched all over for solutions but nothing I've tried will work.
Probably a very noob question but I'm using PuTTY/SSH to login to my virtual machine. When I run confconsole, the line-drawing characters appear as letters, etc. I tried setting the Terminal type string in PuTTY to "linux" but that only changed the display from letters to a set of block like lines.
If I run confconsole in the console on ESXi, the line-drawing chars are interpreted correctly.
What am I missing here? It's decades since I last had to play with this sort of thing.
