Best way to setup ownCloud on ec2, use appliance (with 5.x) or start with Core and install 8.x?

Forum:

I was hoping to get an idea the best, most easily maintained, install of ownCloud on an ec2 instance.

Should I use the appliance and go through the upgrades, 5-->6,6-->7,7-->8?

OR

Should i start with a particular Core install and then add the components? If so, which components or is there a walkthrough to get me up to speed?

Thanks!

TKLBAM restore from S3 time out

Forum:

Having to do a full restore from an S3 storage backup, I am getting a 'failed, reason:timeout' message. I have tried 3 times , each takes around 45mins to achieve this result. Also I have tried --raw -download option and that has just failed. Any ideas?

Using debian wheezy wordpress app hosted on a Mac Pro around 12gb backup size. No network problems I can see.

thanks

Java No Longer Supported in Spartan and Google Chrome

Forum:

With Microsoft and Google moving away from Java compatibility with their latest browsers, where does this leave the webmin plugins which utilize Java?  Are there any plans to move to some other code for the interafce, such as HTML 5 or similar?

Clone From Latest Snapshot vs TKLBAM

Forum:

I'm a bit confused about TKLBAM backups/restore vs cloning from latest snapshot.  Is there a difference?

I'm looking to change instance types, going from a Previous Generation Amazon instance to a Current Generation instance.  (Current appears to run meaningfully faster.)  I've tested this by cloning a server from the latest snapshot.  It seems to work, but I'm not certain if that's the right way to do this.

Thanks,

Brian

Registering Turnkey Instances to Hub

Forum:

I launched a few turnkey appliances from the markplace images, can I connect them to my hub so they show up and can be managed in the servers section of the hub? I have the backups configured and working, but the servers do not show up in the servers list.

Launching servers from HUB EBS Storage Type

Forum:

I am launching new servers and such and I can see that I can change the size of the root file system. When I do this it does appear to be an EBS storage but is magnetic, anyway to provision and launch new servers with General SSD storage type?

Create New User and Increase Max File Size

Forum:

Hello, I am new with turnkey, and just installed it as a guest on esxi 5.5

I cannot seem to figure out how to:

Create users

Create new folders/create directories

Upload files, error message states file size is too big.

Would anyone be able to assist with how to's? I also did not find anything for this in the forum when I searched, but I wouldn't be surprised if this has already been asked.

Thanks

I've extracted the turnkey-moodle zip file and am trying to import it into our vCenter. I get the folder imported to the datastore, and import the .vmx file. When I try to power it on, I get an error:
