New User - How many hours for First Backup in Progress?

Forum:

I signed up and created a simple LAMP server, backup was quick and created a 1 MB S3 backup file. After configuring all my data on a Small Server including web pages and Mysql, I kicked a another full backup of this new server.

It said the full uncompressed backup size was a little under 5 GB and ran for about an hour before the backup processes seemed to complete, now after 4 hours there are no backup processes running. I lost the console due to a connectivity disconnect during this period so don't know what console messages may be occuring, if any.

I fudged dhcp on Turnkey container

Forum:

Is there some magic incantation to restore networking back to normal?? We're getting static IP addresses so I followed some online advice to edit /etc/network/interfaces. That didn't work. Now I can't get it to reset back to dhcp.

So, I installed another container of WordPress, with a different hostname, which works just fine.

No answer from port 80 or 443 after restore from Amazon to private

Forum:

Subject says it all. I restored a medium machine from Amazon cloud back to the private hardware. After which Wordpress-appliance only replies to the local IP-requests. All other ports than 80 and 443 work fine. External firewall is unchanged from a configuration before moving the server to the amazon - it's fine.

I just cant find why Apache/Wordpress is no longer responding to the public IP at ports 80 or 443.

Inherited a MediaWiki appliance running Ubuntu Linux 8.04.2. I can't get it updated? Also need to get it running on Hyper-V?

Forum:

I inherited a MediaWiki appliance that someone has setup in Virtual Box running on a Windows Vista machine. I need to move the virtual machine to Hyper-V since we have a VM host server for our network. But, the MediaWiki device seems to be a really old version. I can't get it to update using any of the documents on this site. I tried everything I could find here http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:FAQ

When I do it through the GUI, I get the 404 error about the Debian packages.

Made a mistake in trying to generate self-signed certificates

I made the mistake of trying to create my own self-signed certificates with webmin and now I am going around in circles sometimes and can login and work and other times I am redirected back to the "unsecure certificate page" with the error;

innisfree.tklapp.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for the following names:
  hub.turnkeylinux.org , www.hub.turnkeylinux.org

(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

Very slow **Local** DNS updates when Stopping/Starting AWS Server

Forum:

I am having issues with changing the instance type of my AWS servers that are hosted through Amazon/Turnkey. I've been experimenting with instance types for a particular application... and have a few times changed it from small to medium or visa versa through the Amazon AWS control panel.

Proxmox VE 2.1-1 and Standalone Tomcat v.12.0 questions

Forum:

Hi all,

I am a newby to Proxmox VE.  Having watched Chris' video tutorial, I installed Proxmox VE2.1-1 on baremetal yesterday and gave the Tomcat openvz a spin.

I set the static IP as 10.0.0.72.

I can connect to the webmin at https_colon//10.0.0.72:12321

I can connect to the web shell at https_colon//10.0.0.72:12320

I cannot connect to the web at http(s)://10.0.0.72

Is there something special that needs to be tweaked in the openvz version of tomcat?

FYI, the tomcat ISO install works perfectly on my XCP server.

Thanks

Eric

No repository found in 'svn://xx.xx.xx.xx/svn' - solved: RTFM

Forum:

Hello.

I am running the version control VM, and I am unable to use either TortoiseSVN or SmartSVN.

I keep getting the error 'No repository found in 'svn://xx.xx.xx.xx/svn'.

I am able to connect through the web interface.

For a test, I tried 'http://xx.xx.xx.xx:3960' to see what I would get, and the following was returned:

( success ( 2 2 ( ) ( edit-pipeline svndiff1 absent-entries commit-revprops depth log-revprops partial-replay ) ) )

Issue with setting up SSL on website

Forum:

I followed the instructions here: http://www.turnkeylinux.org/blog/ssl-certificates

I doubled checked everything, it seems like it should be working. However whenever I type in a https:// URL, it immediatly redirects back to http. What setting is causing this?
