I am a novice to Linux, I've just switched from Windows DNS server to TKL Core 12.1/BIND 9 and everything was working for a few days without problem but now one of the domains is having problem, when I do an nslookup I get "server can't find mydomain2.com: SERVFAIL", all other domains still works, where do I start looking? I have created new host file and stop and restart BIND. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am new to trunkey appliances, but a EC2 user for 4-5 years. I hope I can explain myself is a correct way.
I installed TK OwnCloud appliance 12.1 and had no problem with windows desktop client 1.41, then I installed did a EC2 new instance of Debian (wheezy) and installed OwnCloud by my self (5.012) and had no problems with the windows client. But when I installed the TK appliance 13.0rc I had problems with the windows desktop client.

I am no stranger to web hosting on IIS, but have recently been developing test applications in Rails and Sinatra. I am having a difficult time learing about the Turnkey Rails, or probably more more so, the Apache configuration on the server.
I am livid right now. After having some issues with a virtual machine running 30+ WordPress installations on a TKL LAMP installation, I concluded my only option was to restore a backup from Thursday. I restored the backup from the Hub. To my horrror I found that only eight of the 30 databases were restored! The rest are now GONE!
My faith in this product has been shattered. I can no longer rely upon it. What is the point of a "backup" product that DOESN'T BACK UP DATA?!?!?
I have the TKL file server version 12. Used for taking the backup of some McAfee based solution.
The TKL file server has a NAS volume mounted where the backups are actually stored. The setup seems to be working perfectly fine.
The issue is as below.
I have created some users on the TKL server who manage this backup process i.e. take backup from the McAfee appliance using their id and post it to the NAS volume through the TKL file server.
Howdy! Am new to the Linux world and have been have been fumbling around trying to get a simple file server up an running in my small office. Real basic needs for now, just sharing files amongst coworkers, but eventually I'm going to need to set up more detailed security privileges (Tom and Dick can read and write to everything, Harry can only read, etc..). But for now I just want to get the files up on the server and shared.
I thought I should post this somewhere after I took the time to do it. I managed to update the Dokuwiki in turnkey linux from the old one to the new weatherwax.
It did this by first installing the current turnkey solution. And then sshing into the VM and executing the following instrucitons:
This got me to the new version... (It was not so simple, but I think I now follow what is going on...)
